Increasing the efficiency of enterprises’ material and technical equipment

Abstract: The article pointed out the desirability of use of the “process approach” to material and technical equipment of enterprise, which will link its processes and develop an effective management system. It is proposed a form of table (matrix) to enter data into an electronic database. In addition, it is proposed to create a unified management system and a set of information about procurement activities with the efficiency assessment of the resource purchasing processes and their quality through comprehensive quality indicators.

Providing reliability of human resources in production management process

Abstract: People are the most valuable asset of an organization and the results of a company mostly depends on them. The human factor can also be a weak link in the company and cause of the high risk for many of the processes. Reliability of the human factor in the process of the manufacturing process will depend on many factors. The authors include aspects of human error, safety culture, knowledge, communication skills, teamwork and leadership role in the developed model of reliability of human resources in the management of the production process. Based on the case study and the results of research and observation of the author present risk areas defined in a specific manufacturing process and the results of evaluation of the reliability of human resources in the process.

Recommendations on the monitoring system of underground gas storage

The article in accordance with the "process approach" ISO 9000 is substantiated the necessity of creating underground gas storage system monitoring and control, including objects, parameters, methods, frequency and corrective action, on the basis of which made structural formula monitoring cycle. Qualimetrical approach allows to define complex criteria of an estimation of efficiency of operation, which will help to make timely and effective management decisions, including from the perspective of environmental protection.

Application of quality  shaping methods in the work  environment improvement.  A case of  theoretical frames

Businesses, which typically operate in highly changeable settings, are forced to make constant adjustments to meet legislative requirements concerning employment and the performance of work. To that end, they need to identify tools for improving their work processes. By employing quality management methods to upgrade their working environments, enterprises gain the ability to satisfy the needs and expectations of their customers, including the internal customers who rely on the processes carried out by their employees. The effort not only helps them boost the quality, reliability, flexibility and cost-efficiency of their processes but also allows them to comply with legislative/regulatory requirements. In doing so, they bring their system into conformity with any safety policies that are in place in their organizations. The article discusses the option of employing quality-oriented process design methods (FMEA, QFD and DOE) to improve working environments. The author describes some of the basic prerequisites for their use aimed at boosting the planning and deployment of improvement measures in areas related to the working environment.

Context-driven Maintenance: an eMaintenance approach

All assets necessarily suffer wear and tear during operation. Prognostics can assess the current health of a system and predict its remaining life based on features capturing the gradual degradation of its operational capabilities. Prognostics are critical to improve safety, plan successful work, schedule maintenance, and reduce maintenance costs and down time. Prognosis is a relatively new area but has become an important part of Condition-based Maintenance (CBM) of systems. As there are many prognostic techniques, usage must be attuned to particular applications. Broadly stated, prognostic methods are either data-driven, rule based, or model-based. Each approach has advantages and disadvantages; consequently, they are often combined in hybrid applications. A hybrid model can combine some or all model types; thus, more complete information can be gathered, leading to more accurate recognition of the fault state. This approach is especially relevant in systems where the maintainer and operator know some of the failure mechanisms, but the sheer complexity of the assets precludes the development of a complete model-based approach. The paper addresses the process of data aggregation into a contextual awareness hybrid model to get RUL values within logical confidence intervals so that the life cycle of assets can be managed and optimised.

The use  of 3x3 matrix  to evaluate a manufacturing  technology of chosen metal

Manufacturing technology of steel products, including ribbed wire, is a very important factor influencing the final result of production and hence the cost of production. The product competition decides about the existence of the manufacturer on the market. Therefore, it was decided to use the 3x3 matrix to evaluation manufacturing technology of ribbed wire. This matrix can be easily used to evaluate the technology of all steel products. In the paper the 3x3 matrix was used to in the Polish steelworks.

Reliability modeling based on incomplete data: oil pump application

The reliability analysis for industrial maintenance is now increasingly demanded by the industrialists in the world. Indeed, the modern manufacturing facilities are equipped by data acquisition and monitoring system, these systems generates a large volume of data. These data can be used to infer future decisions affecting the health facilities. These data can be used to infer future decisions affecting the state of the exploited equipment. However, in most practical cases the data used in reliability modelling are incomplete or not reliable. In this context, to analyze the reliability of an oil pump, this work proposes to examine and treat the incomplete, incorrect or aberrant data to the reliability modeling of an oil pump. The objective of this paper is to propose a suitable methodology for replacing the incomplete data using a regression method.
